    Hi Sophie,

I just want to say thanks so much for your blog. I just discovered it this morning when I received an email from i-to-i tefl, advertising it. I read a lot of it and it has really encouraged me to go to Taiwan. I have been sort of deliberating between south korea and taiwan and i think this blog has cinched it for me.

Can I just ask though, who did you go through to find your job? I have been researching but always seem to find bad stories about recruiters who screw you over and put you in hideous accomodation etc. You seem to have a great little set up and I would be interested in applying to the same recruiter as you did, if you used a recruiter at all.

    Best wishes,

    Jane

    Hi Jane,

Definitely come to Taiwan over South Korea, I’m not a Seoul expert or anything but so many people have told me Taiwan is one of the friendliest places in Asia. Everyone here wants to help a lost foreigner or say hello in the supermarket! I got my job through Seriousteachers.com and I used an agent (who is amazing), the school pay for about 80% my accommodation and know different landlords in the area. It’s definitely a nice little set up, if you want the name/email of my agent drop me an email at sophie.wong@live.com.

Glad you’re enjoying the blog 🙂
